• In this case, the action (taught) is being received by the subject (students), and the agent (teacher) is optionally mentioned.

Rules for Changing from Active to Passive:

• The object of the active voice becomes the subject of the passive voice.
• The verb “to be” is added before the main verb, in accordance with the tense.
• The main verb is changed into its past participle form.
• The subject of the active voice becomes the agent, which is introduced with the word “by” (optional).
